Ride Along

This last Saturday, I got to go on a ridealong with Officer Hawkworth. I had so much fun! It was so awesome! We did a little of everything, i do say myself. First we did some traffic stops. He let me be in charge of the Radar Gun and I caught my first speeder! He was going 40mph in a 25mph zone! We issued some fix it tickets and expired regisitrations. We almost got ran off the road and we pulled that guy over too. We talked about all kinds of things and went and met some of the other cops at the cash station. He told me about why he wanted to be a cop and some of the things he does to deal with the emotion part of being a police officer. All in all he said it was awesome. Some of the pictures I have uploaded are ones that i took at the accident we went too. No one was extremely injured but it was quite an adrenline rush running red lights, speeding, and having lights an siren. I defiently want to do that again. I felt like I belonged in that police car. I picked up on some of the lingo and codes they use over radio...I think someone is trying to tell me something....

The little Things

The little things, thats what makes life worth living right? They are the things that help to make memories and to expound on new discoveries. But they are also the things that people blow out of porproting right? They are the things that people get upset over and the things that make people do things and say things that otherwise wouldnt ever live their mouths. The ruin relationships and make smiling a difficult task.
I for one have had plenty of things like this happen. Things that I wish I could take back, or things that I shouldnt even have cared about in the first place. I could have just shunned them to the back of my mind and went on with my life, but that wouldnt have solved anything. I have gotten in trouble with little things said as well. Things that were stupidity in my opinion. Things that shouldnt even have crossed there minds, but it didnt stop them. I get in trouble for everything.
But as many times as I get in trouble or feel down on myself due to this "little things" there are always those that pick me up. The fact that a boy texted me, or that today its sunny. Days when I feel like I look pretty when I look in the mirror, or days when I get to have a sweet treat. Days when I get complemented or told I am special. Those are the things that I live for. The things that help me to make life more pleasant and more enjoyable. Those are the things that help me keep going...

Stress/Harry Potter

Well, let me just say how stressed out I am! I hate when teachers get your assignments, but they never put them in. It makes your grade suck! Recently I went and got some dental work done, a cavity filled, and one of my teachers, Mr. Lee, told me to take the assignment with me and to turn it in next time. Well those who knwo me, knew I was right on top of it. After the dentist I went home, did the assignment and waited till Thursday to turn it in. It has been almost a week and a half and he still has yet to turn it in. I have a C! That is not acceptable! So I sent him and email to look for it and get it in because I know I turned it in! My next class is spanish. I went and got braces last Tuesday so I missed that class. Well I have a missing assignment, that again I turned in! I sent him and email too. It stresses me out how teachers do that. It is very important to me to get good grades, thats one thing I have on top, and if my dad sees those grades, I am dead! So instead of giving up and digging my grave, I will badger them until they get in the paper! Ugh!
Anyway, you may have noticed my new blogger background! Well its in honor of the new movie and my undying love for the wizard! May he live on!

Aww...isnt Fall Weather Fantastic

So, we have had a pretty warm September and beginning of October. I was even taking my dog out to run around, I think just last week I did. The weather was cool and yet still warm. I would go run with him. I would unhook his leash and take off my flip flops and just start running. I felt so awesome! I ran as fast as my legs could take me, running away from reality, from my problems, from everything yet it was only for a moment. I tried not to think about when I would stop I just ran. When I would finally stop my lungs felt like they were going to explode, and everything ached. But it felt good. It was a good ache that I started to crave.
Now I cant do that though, the weather decided to change from the unusal warmness to the original cold, almost wintery feel that we always have about this time of year. On Saturday, it poured it was funny I was with Ariel and I would look out the window and I would tell her "Are you sure were in Utah" It never rained like this in Utah. In south Dakota yea, but Utah? It was stormy the rest of the weekend and into the beginning of the week. this moring I woke up and saw white stuff on our roofs! And apparently we have some snow on the radar for later tonight...yea isnt this gonna be exciting.
So to some things that are going on. My grandpa came home after being in "Crestwood" for 100 days following a stroke. He has defiently came along way, and I have defiently witnessed a miracle. He came from being paralyzed on one side of his body and not being able to move his leg at all, to walking! on his own! It was a miracle! The Saturday following his arrival home we had our annual "Pumpkin Carving" which in my opinion was a perfect way to welcome Grandpa home. It rained super hard, but we went in the barn. It just made a lot more memories in my opinion. I carved a dog! Big Surpise Right! Haha anyway. Like I said I will try to update my blog as often as possible! Love ya'll

Its an enormous school, especially compared to old Madison High School. I am starting to get into the routine of school again and socializing. I have made quite a few friends. There's Taylor, she is 16, and I have to say she is pretty awesome. We eat together and soon were gonna hang out and stuff. She says all the time that its weird that she has a friend thats a girl. She says she doesnt like girls much, so I guess I am pretty special. I have that little spark that Hannah Bananana said that I had. Lol. Jeff is pretty awesome too. He is a senior and he always makes me laugh. Then of course their is others like Stephanie, Jaci, and Jesse. I have also got back in touch with some of my very old friends who live here in Utah. CHAPTER TWO: I awoke the next morning to the sun shining in through my window. i roleed over and stretched my arms over my head. I let my head lie in the coolness of my pillow and took a deep breath. "Another Day," I said aloud to myself. I sighed and lay still for a little while and slowly breathed in and out. I turned over again and pushed the covers off. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I turned and looked out my window to the ocean. I become lost in thought. It was my mothers voice that brought me back. "Sophia?" She asked. I made no sound and continued to stare out into the blue. "Sophie?" This time she cracked open my door and peered inside. "Sophia, its almost noon. What are you still doing in bed?" I ignored her and just stared out the window. She entered my room and went straight for my dirty clothes that were strewn acrossed my desk and piled up high. She sighed and started picking at them. I heard the rustleing of clothes stop and turned to find her staring at me. "What?" I asked, suddenly feeling a little selfconsious. She tucked her hair behind her one of her ears and smiled. "We should go shopping" I must have looked surprised because she continued, "well all your clothes are worn and a little too small" She walked back acrossed the room to the doorway and turned back to me. "Wont Daddy be mad?" I asked nervously. "It will be fine. Now get ready so we can go" she left at that. Surprised I got up and into the shower. I quickly washed my hair and shaved my legs. I shut the shower off and wrapped a towel around my naked body. I stepped out and glanced at myself in the mirror. The sight that I saw made me take a double take. I stopped and examined myself. With my light skin I always seem pale. I touched my nose and mouth with my fingers, they seemed to be more defined as well as my cheek bones. It was as if I grew up over night. I rinsed off my face and continued into my room. I picked out a light blue blouse with white capris. I through it on and blow dryed my hair. I put on my makeup but took a little more time with this then anything else. I grabbed my purse and headed out the door and down the stairs.
I walked into the kitchen where Barry sat in his work uniform. "Good Morning" he said without looking up from his paper. My mom must be upstairs getting ready so I make myself some toast. "Where's Alice?" I chime in. "She is at her friends" he responds. "oh" I answer.

Havent thought of a title yet.

PROLOUGE: I stare into the distant sunset and watch as the waves crash around the coast. Seagulls glide around the cliffs in the warm summer air and the lighthouse to my left begins to cast its light. I take in a deep breath and close my eyes. I let the coolness of a breeze wip around my hair and the smell of the ocean salt overtake me. This place is beautiful, I think to myself. I stand still for a little while and listen to the ocean crash into the rocks, waiting for what will be coming. I know that it is rediculous to stand outside when the party awaits me, but I cant miss the show that nature has in store for me. I open my eyes as the sun moves a little farther down the sky. I stand in silence trying not to blink, when I see it. I black dorsel fin comes into view from the depths, then another joins it. I hold my breath as about five or six join the first. The majestic creatures come into view and I gasp, no matter how many times I see them they always surprise me. The black and white bleed from the green and blue ocean. They spurt out water from the airholes on top of their heads and begin their show. A soft melody comes from the pack and this time I keep my eyes open. It is as if they sing and dance for me. Then one jumps from the sea and falls back down as gravity takes its toll upon it. After this each one does it, and they sing as well. I stand, transfixed, for awhile until my mother comes into veiw and tells me it is time to come back in. Sadly I trench back through the gravel in her footsteps. I take one last peek at the beautiful creatures before I climb the steps. They seem to know that they have no audience and begin their leave as well. In the wisp of the wind I utter the words that always escape my lips "I will be back, as I always am"

CHAPTER ONE: I enter the house and the smell of turkey takes hold of me. I stand in the doorway though and listen as the others carry on their conversations. Aunt Marie tells Uncle Ben about the time she had going to the hospital for the first time by herself since everyone refused to go. Barry is telling Alice not to eat her peas with her hands, and Momma tells Dad that she came and got me. I stand still and listen to their silly conversations as they pass the potatoes and enjoy their meals. Though, the longing to go back outside stays in my mind. They whales are a lot better than being in here. I get caught up in the memory of tonight that I dont even hear Dad call me. "Sophia!" I break my trance and walk into the dining room. Everyone stares as I enter. "Well my dear...Aren't you a sight for sore eyes" Aunt Marie tells me. I look down at myself and notice all the dirt that has made home on my clothing. My hair is all tangled since I refused to put it up, and my feet are black because I didnt wear shoes. Daddy looks me over once and tells me I look fine. Momma is a little put off about how I came to the dinner table but she says not one word. They continue their conversations as I take my place beside Barry. I start to scoop up potatoes when he startles me. "Out watching the whales again?" I act as though nothing happend and continue scooping potatoes on my plate. "Yes" I whisper back. He silently chuckles and handed me a roll. "You love them Sis. They are like your big pets" he laughs at his comment and I just nodd. You see, Barry is 17. Unlike my father, he is broad and tall. He has my mothers green eyes though and my fathers burnett hair. Though he is 17 he looks like he is 20. He likes to carry himself like that as well. Since he is 18 yet he gets made fun of, especially by the bar drunks. But he doesnt sweat it and continues to be more mature. I start eating my peas and look over at Alice. She on the other hand is a spitting image of my mother. Long blond hair, green eyes, everyhting. She is only 8 though so sometimes she can be quite annoying. I though look like my father. I have dark brown hair, his hazel eyes, and his wide feet. I am 15 years old but get treated like I am Alices age. It is not a great deal I must say but I have learned to live with it.
I scoop up some more food as Marie and Ben exclaim that they must be getting home. My mother exchanges hugs and my father says his goodbye from the table. I keep eating my food though I know what is coming. I need to eat as much as I can since that will be all i will probably get tonight. The door closes behind them and my mother returns to her seat. I wait quietly shoveling food in my mouth. "Sophia" I hear my father say quietly. I look up from my plate and into both my parents eyes. They gesture for Barry to take Alice and go into the kitchen. He obeys they commands and walks into the other room. I set down my fork and look down at my napkin. "Where have you been tonight" My father asks. I know he wants an answer and I dont really want to give it him. "Sophie answer your father" my mother chimes in. Most of the day I spent down by the light house. Planting flowers and chasing birds away from my strawberries. I told him this and he looks displeased. I catch his eye and look down again. "You do know there is other stuff that can be done right?" I nodd my head. "Well then I expect you to get it done tomorrow, no if, ands, or buts. YOu are to help your mother and no more of this whale nonsence ya hear" I nodd and thank heaven that he isnt yelling. They tell me that I have to go to my room and write down a list. I obey them quietly and head up the stairs to my room, but instead of writing a list. I lay on my bed and stare at the ceiling. And quickly and quietly my mind comes to a halt and I fade into the darkness of the ocean around me.
